SVD and pseudo-inverse

Study lecture notes and understand the concept of rank of a matrix and how to set up and solve a linear matrix equation using the pseudo-inverse.

Nonlinear ODEs :

Revise lecture notes and questions on the assignment.

Be able to write a 2^nd order ode as two first order odes, calculate and interpret the divergence of the vector field of the odes, trajectories in the phase plane, local stability analysis.

Questions may be asked based on your ODE lab assignment – so be sure that you review how you set up and carry out a numerical study using matlab.
